Charles Nicholas Venezia, known to some as 'Charlie' or 'Chuckie', was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 23, 1949. He attended Xaverian High School on a full scholarship and received his BS in biology from NYU. his MBA from New York's St. John's University and his CPCU from the College of Insurance.

Charles 22 and Myra 21 marry in 1971 on Charles' birthday. They stay together for 33 years, until his death.
Charles serves in the army as a Nike missile operator in South Korea for a year and Myra joins him overseas. During his time there he helps his country, learns karate and some Korean and makes a load of great friends.
Upon his return to the states, he begins a career in the commercial insurance industry, working at Continental Insurance, Frank B. Hall, Landmark Insurance, Royal Insurance, General Reinsurance and most recently at IVANS. Charles was involved in the cutting edge use of electronic databases and helped implement one of the first electronic interchange claim systems and early rating systems in the insurance industry.
He and Myra continue to travel and have adventures together, and move from Bristol to Staten Island within this time period.
And then Diana was born...

Ups and downs, twists and turns, Charles' passionate take on life keeps him constantly on the go. He moves with his family to New Jersey and then later to Connecticut. He attends musicals, science fiction conventions, operas, movies, is constantly making projects for himself or others, loves anything computer-related, reads a lot, loves a lot, is a supportive father, husband, son, brother and friend, meets people around the world on business trips, takes his family around America and other countries.
In 2000, he is diagnosed with colon cancer. Before having surgery, he decides to go to Hawaii on vacation with his family as one last fling... |

It isn't one last fling at all, and while the chemo tires him out a bit, he continues on like a real trooper, doing everything he did before, even more-so. Summer 2004 he travels from the east coast to the west coast in a road trip with Myra and says it was the best trip of his life. |

After a five-year-long battle with colon cancer, he passed away in his home on July 3, 2005 at the age of 55. Myra and Diana are by his side, holding his hands, as he goes. |

VENEZIA Charles Nicholas Venezia, age 55 of Trumbull, died at home on July 3, 2005 after a five-year battle with colon cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 23, 1949, he attended Xaverian High School on a full scholarship and received his BS in biology from NYU in 1971, his MBA from New York’s St. John’s University and his CPCU from The College of Insurance. Charles served in the army as a Nike missile operator in South Korea. Upon his return, he began a career in the commercial insurance industry, working at Continental Insurance, Frank B. Hall, Landmark Insurance, Royal Insurance, General Reinsurance and most recently at IVANS. Charles was involved in the cutting edge use of electronic databases and helped implement one of the first electronic interchange claim systems and early rating systems in the insurance industry. Beloved, admired and forever-respected by his family, he is survived by his wife of 33-years Myra; daughter Diana; father Charles J. Venezia and sister Barbara Tozzi of New Jersey; nieces, nephews; and friends worldwide. Charles was an adventurer, who loved travel. He was an avid science fiction fan with a witty sense of humor, who enjoyed music, particularly Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. |
